These maps show the average salaries and the normalized salary index for senior #softwaredevelopers in Europe. High salaries are found in north-west Europe and lower salaries are found in the East.
However, when salaries are normalized we can see that the values are more similar across European countries. It means that even if salaries differ, they are compensated by their cost of living.
Once normalized, the really high Norwegian salaries do not cope with the high cost of living in Norway. Both Russia and Croatia have low salaries that remain low when normalized.
